Can You Survive a Night at This Unusual Minnesota Jail House Airbnb?
"Do not pass Go and do not collect $200. Go directly and immediately to jail."
For all my Monopoly lovers out there, this phrase might sound familiar. Even if this expression doesn't strike up any childhood memories, it is my instruction for you.
Stop what you're doing, and immediately book a stay at this unconventional, historic Minnesota jailhouse in Wykoff.
We have a lot of unique Airbnb's in Minnesota, from treehouses to tiny homes to castles; we've got it all, including a historic jailhouse.
The historic Wykoff Jail Haus was built in the late 1800s and is still owned by the City of Wykoff. The interestingly curious Airbnb is only 40 miles south of Rochester and is near bike trails, Forestville State Park, cross country skiing trails, and playgrounds.
The town of Wykoff itself is a small Minnesota town. In fact, the city only has 450 residents. However, most restaurants, convenience stores, and gas stations are all within walking distance of the jailhouse.
The tiny building has one comfy queen bed, two jail cell bunks, and a bathroom. (And no worries, the jailhouse does have Wi-Fi and air conditioning. What more could you need?)
According to the reviews, the bunks are quite the hit with young children!
Luckily, the Airbnb is on the cheaper side too! In fact, you can rent this place for $95 a night.
Whether you are interested in a little getaway or some fascinating history, this jailhouse is perfect for those wanting a little peace and quiet.
