Carrie Underwood was on hand to help pay tribute to Linda Ronstadt when the female musician was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday (April 10) in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Underwood joined Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Rait, Sheryl Crow and Emmylou Harris on stage to pay tribute to the legendary singer. After Underwood performed ‘Different Drum,’ the group sang ‘Blue Bayou,’ ‘You’re No Good,’ It’s So Easy’ and ‘When Will I Be Loved.’

Ronstadt was truly the first crossover female singer and she helped lead the way for singers like Taylor Swift and Crow, who released her first all-country album last year. Ronstadt’s songs include ‘Silver Threads and Golden Needles’ and ‘When Will I Be Loved.’

Unfortunately, Ronstadt was unable to attend her induction ceremony. She’s currently battling Parkinson’s Disease and made it known last year that the disease has taken her ability to sing.

Glenn Frey inducted the female into the Hall of Fame as the two have quite a special relationship. Frey used to play in Ronstadt’s band until he left with Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner to become the Eagles.

Other Rock HoF inductees in 2014 were Cat Stevens, the E Street Band, Peter Gabriel, KISS, Hall & Oates, Rolling Stones‘ manager Andrew Loog Oldham, Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein and Nirvana.

A broadcast of the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will happen on May 31 on HBO.
