For once, there's news about a Rochester restaurant that isn't closing, but is getting ready to open a new location.

One of Rochester's favorite breakfast spots, Pannekoeken, was forced to close last fall when the space it leased in the old Days Inn Hotel was up. As we all know, especially if you've driven by, after a long battle, that entire building is gone.

And while we don't yet know what might be going up in its place, we DO know that Pannekoeken is set to re-open-- at a totally new location downtown here in the Med City.

According to this KTTC story, the new restaurant will be called 'Hollandberry Pannekoeken,' according to signs on a building in the 2000 block of Broadway Avenue.

Meanwhile, this KIMT story says the restaurant's owner, Tasos Psomas, is looking forward to opening up a Rochester classic-- with a new twist-- later this summer, the story noted, hopefully by the beginning of June.

I've gotta say, I never got the chance to stop in at the previous location-- but will make it a point to try the new place when it opens. Who's up for pancakes?
