COVID-19: 2.5% Positive Results From 14K Tests on Thursday
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - State officials say the over 14,000 COVID-19 tests that were completed in Minnesota yesterday detected 362 new infections.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the state is now over 32,000. 14 of the new cases reported today were in Olmsted County.
Mower County, which experienced a surge of new infections earlier in the week, reported 12 new cases today. A community testing program will be conducted in Austin over the weekend with free testing available to everyone at the Mower County Fairgrounds from 11 AM until 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
The State Health Department reported 17 new coronavirus related deaths today. The cumulative total now stands at 1361.
There are currently 339 people hospitalized in Minnesota with the coronavirus infection. That is the lowest that number has been since April 29th. 168 of the patients are in intensive care, which is three fewer than yesterday.
The number of Minnesotans on the list of those recovered and no longer needing isolation is up to over 27,700.
