One of the most popular British TV shows that's also popular here in the United States is the PBS show, Downton Abbey. But what would it sound like if they all had American accents?

Seeing as the show is heading into its sixth and final season this January, a few of the stars are here in the States doing some promotional appearances. In fact, Downton stars Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Allen Leech all dropped by Stephen Colbert's show last week, where he got them to perform a scene from the show-- but doing American accents.

My wife and I got binged-watched the first few seasons of Downton Abbey a few years ago during the winter and have been hooked on it since then. It's set in north England in the early 1900's, and, obviously, all the actors and actresses have rather pronounced British (or Scottish or even Irish) accents. So hearing them do an American accent is just... weird. Check it out:
