Feds Charge 2 Teenagers With Torching St. Paul Business

St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Federal prosecutors continue to bring charges against people suspected of crimes associated with the rioting in the Twin Cities that followed the death of George Floyd.

The U.S. Attorney for Minnesota says 19-year-old Samuel Frey of Brooklyn Park and 19-year-old Bailey Baldus are both accused of being responsible for an arson fire that damaged a health and nutrition store in St. Paul. They were both arraigned Tuesday before a federal magistrate in St. Paul on charges of conspiracy to commit arson.

According to the charges, security camera video from inside the business show Frey and Baldus in the building when the fire broke out and tips provided to investigators led to the identification of the two defendants. The complaint also alleges Frey can be seen on a video pouring flammable hand sanitizer onto a shelving unit and lighting it on fire.

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives continue to urge the public to come forward with information about the destructive acts that occurred across the Twin Cities during the recent unrest.
