Garbage Truck Destroyed By Fire in Rural Olmsted County
High Forest, MN (KROC AM News) – A garbage truck was destroyed by fire Wednesday in rural Olmsted County.
Sheriff’s Office Capt. Scott Behrns says the driver of the Sunshine Sanitation truck was on 80th Ave SW near High Forest when he heard a loud noise from the front of the vehicle and thought a tire had blown. The driver stopped and discovered one of the front tires was burning. Behrns says the fire soon spread to the rest of the truck and it was determined to be a total loss.
The loss was put at $330,000.
Behrns says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
