There's a brand new group--and a very familiar name--when it comes to the opening acts for this weekend's Garth Brooks Stadium Tour shows in Minnesota.

I've been looking forward to seeing Garth back here in Minnesota ever since he announced he was doing two shows at U.S. Bank Stadium last December.

(And while the shows have been sold out for several months now, you still CAN win tickets-- download our Quick Country 96.5 app HERE and listen for Garth's 'Go Codes' Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 6, 7 and 8 a.m. for a chance to win!)

And earlier this year, Garth announced that up-and-coming Nashville group, King Calaway, will be opening his Friday night show here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. (This Music Universe story has all the details.)

And, earlier this week during his 'Inside Studio G' Facebook live episode, Garth announced that Darius Rucker will be opening the Saturday night show at the home of the Vikings!

How cool is that?!? Darius Rucker puts on an AWESOME show in his own right, and then we'll get to see Garth after that?!? (Can you tell I'm excited that my wife and I are going Saturday night?!?)

I once had the chance to have a beer with Darius after he and the guys from Hootie And the Blowfish played a show at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay, WI, and he couldn't have been a cooler guy-- and an incredible performer, too. (He even changed that line in the song 'Only Wanna Be With You' from 'I'm such a baby, the Dolphins make me cry...' to '...the PACKERS make me cry...'  seeing as he was in Green Bay. (Which was cool for a Wisconsin kid like me.) Woo hoo!
