George Strait’s Minnesota Show Postponed Until July 2021
Chalk another cancelation up due to our ongoing battle with the coronavirus: this time it's George Strait's show at U.S. Bank Stadium this summer.
Quick Country 96.5 was proud to break the big concert announcement back in January that 'King' George Strait was set to head to the Land of 10,000 Lakes this summer, playing an incredible show at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis which was scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd.
Then, the coronavirus hit, and canceled pretty much every live event in its wake. And, here's the bad news: that includes the George Strait's show set for this August here in Minnesota. But the good news? It's not canceled-- it's just postponed. Because it's already rescheduled for NEXT summer, at the same venue, U.S. Bank Stadium. According to a press release:
Originally scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2020 the King of Country Music’s U.S. Bank Stadium show in Minneapolis will now take place on Saturday, July 31, 2021 with special guests Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town.
Fans should hold on to existing tickets, which will be honored for the new dates. Those unable to attend the rescheduled shows are eligible for a refund at the original point of purchase within the next 30 days.
And, in case you're curious, George is an ICON in country music. In fact, he's the singer responsible for giving us Garth Brooks too. That's right! A then-unknown Garth Brooks heard George Strait his truck radio in Oklahoma and his music made such an impression, it caused Garth to embark on his own journey as a country singer and musician! And, now, you'll be able to see him in the same venue here in Minnesota-- U.S. Bank Stadium-- that Garth played in 2019!
Don't miss it... George Strait with Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town, now rescheduled for Saturday, July 31st at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis!
