Minnesota City Now One of the Healthiest Places to Live in the US
When determining where you want to live, there are a lot of things to factor in. Being named one of the healthiest places in the country is definitely a huge win, in my opinion.
A list of the Healthiest Places to Live in the U.S. was just released and one city in the land of 10,000 lakes made an impressive appearance.
After reviewing the list, I think I might finally be able to convince my husband to move to Hawaii as Honolulu was the second healthiest place in the country. ;)
So, what's the healthiest place and where does our Minnesota mention fall?
We'll get there, but first let's start with the details on how they determined the healthiest of cities. The study was conducted by WalletHub and they based the findings on four categories: health care, green space, food, and fitness.
"Where people live can have a big influence on how successful they are at staying in good health, so the best cities are the ones that provide the greatest access to high-quality healthcare, green spaces, recreation centers, and healthy food.” - WalletHub
Within those categories, taking a deeper look at things like hiking trails available, walkability, physical activity access, family doctors per capita, mental and physical health, famers markets, and more.

San Francisco was named the healthiest place in the entire country. I mean, being 75 and sunny year round with access to beaches galore, I get it. Honolulu was number two, Seattle at number 3, San Diego is number 4, and DC rounds out the top 5.
Competing with perfect when we are in a frozen tundra for half the year is tough, but one Minnesota city proved it deserves mention. That city is Minneapolis. Minneapolis made it on the list and an impressive appearance at that coming in at number 12.
Minneapolis wasn't the only Minnesota city on the list though. St. Paul also took a spot in the top 50. You can read more about the study and see what other cities made the cut by clicking here.
