Here Are the 10 New Nonstop Destinations Where Sun Country Will Be Flying
Sun Country Airlines just announced it will be adding 10 new destinations where it will be offering nonstop flights from Minnesota.
In case you missed it earlier this week, Minnesota's biggest hometown airline, Sun Country, just threw down the gauntlet at its Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) counterpart (that would be Delta Airlines, btw) and announced it was offering nonstop service to 10 new destinations.
And most of those places are destinations that are currently served by nonstop flights on Delta Airlines. Oh, snap! Travel site The Thrifty Traveler notes that's the point:
"That's no accident." Thrifty Travel noted. "The low-cost carrier is increasingly willing to take on Delta at its home base, hoping to steal away cost-conscious travelers and turn Minneapolis into its vision of a “two-airline market,” Thrifty Traveler said.

With these new additions, Sun Country said it will operate 120 routes serving 104 airports across the United States, Mexico, Central America, Canada, and the Caribbean, with most of them originating here at MSP.
Sun Country's Grant Whitney is senior vice president and chief revenue officer. In a statement earlier this week, he said the following:
Sun Country prides itself on being the leisure airline of choice for MSP customers. We have more than doubled our nonstop destinations for customers flying out of MSP in the last five years and we are thrilled to offer these unique new offerings spanning the continent from Quebec to New Mexico.
Here are the 10 new destinations to which Sun Country will be offering nonstop service from MSP:
- Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Montréal, Canada
- Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Toronto, Canada
- Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), New Mexico
- Billings Logan International Airport (BIL), Montana
- Boise Airport (BOI), Idaho
- Dulles International Airport (IAD), Virginia/Washington, D.C.
- Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR), Grand Rapids, Michigan
- Missoula Montana Airport (MSO), Montana
- Oakland International Airport (OAK), California
- Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR), New York

While the two new Canadian destinations (Toronto and Montreal) still require regulatory approval, they're on sale now as Sun Country extended its schedule through September 10, 2024.
