The Big Wu Family Reunion XVI is this Friday and Saturday, August 12-13, at Camp Maiden Rock West in Morristown with a pre-party on Thursday night. Celebrating their 16th year of this multi-day, multi-stage and multi-artist musical festival, the Big Wu have brought in headliner Peter Rowan. This bluegrass musician has been working in the professional world of music for more than 50 years. His resume includes guitarist and singer for the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys. He teamed up with David Grisman and formed Earth Opera, which frequently opened for the Doors. He was in a band called Muleskinner, and worked with Jerry Garcia in Old and in the Way, then rejoined his brothers in The Rowans. Those are just a short list of the artists he's worked with over the years and back in 2012 he received the Bluegrass Star Award from the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation in Dallas, Texas.
