How Do You Keep Squirrels from Raiding Your Bird Feeders? Try This!

Keeping squirrels and other varmints out of your bird feeders can be a constant battle. But thanks to our beloved Program Director JEFF (he's the boss), I was able to meet his request, AND.....keep those pesky varmints away!

Sunday evening while cruising thru my Facebook feed I noticed a recent post by our beloved Quick Country Program Boss, JEFF. He had donned a Santa's suit and posted a photo of the transformation on his FB page. He then challenged his FB friends with this:
Please print this out and hang it on your tree or put it on your mantle. Tis' the season. Also, please send pics of this when you put it somewhere in your house. K? Thanks

I complied with Jeff's request but I decided to display the image I printed  outside-the-house. (that's like outside-the-box, only different!)

I posted my printed image at the base of one of my bird feeders and discovered that the Santa Jeff image seems to keep those pesky raiding varmints away. I was delighted ! However, it seems that the birds have been frightened away as well ; except for one, that being 'Priscella' the Pileated Woodpecker who has been visiting my deck on a regular basis.(see image below) 'Priscella' The Pileated is not afraid of ANYTHING!
