When it comes to life here in southeast Minnesota, there are just a few things I don’t 'get.' Like why a multi-billion dollar organization is asking for 'volunteers.'

Now don't get me wrong, I think it's waaay cool that Super Bowl 52 is going to be played right here in Minnesota. US Bank Stadium is a state-of-the-art facility, and deserves to be in the national spotlight.

And, seeing as our tax money went to help fund the Vikings new stadium, we should take some pride in seeing our new palace highlighted on one of the most visible events in the world.

But here's what I don't get: The NFL is made up of 32 owners who are, by most accounts, worth billions of dollars, right? They employ players who are, also by most accounts, worth millions of dollars, right?

So why is Minnesota's Super Bowl 52 Host Committee asking for 10,000 'volunteers' (that's code for "we're not going to pay you") to help out during the festivities next February?!?
