Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Iowa teenager is facing two felony charges for his alleged participation in an assault and robbery in Rochester a little over a month ago.

A criminal complaint filed Friday in Olmsted County Court charges 19-year-old Terry Anthony Adams Jr. with aiding and abetting first-degree aggravated robbery and aiding and abetting third-degree assault. He is also accused of a misdemeanor theft-related charge stemming from the same incident on September 29th.

The Spirit Lake Iowa man is accused of driving a Rochester juvenile to Bear Creek Park in southeast Rochester to purportedly meet someone and purchase some marijuana. The victim told officers they were walking on the paved trail in the park when he got nervous and turned around. That's when spotted another person running at him and was punched on the back of his head while trying to flee.

The victim, who had $500 in cash with him, told investigators he recognized his attacker as a Rochester juvenile whom he also considered to be a friend. He stated that both Adams and the other juvenile stomped on his head while demanding his money. The victim also alleges the juvenile pointed a gun at him and continued kicking him until Adams picked up the cash and the pair ran to Adam's car.

Adams later gave a statement to an investigator during which he admitted driving the victim to the park, but denied being involved in the assault and robbery. He is due in court on December 14th for his formal arraignment on the charges.
