Is Dunkin’ Donuts Really Saying Adiós to Their ‘Donuts’?
Could this all be a big publicity stunt, much like the one IHOP pulled off this summer when they dropped the "P" for pancakes? Could be, but this one sounds serious and also permanent.
Reports are coming out that says Dunkin' is dropping the donuts — from its name, anyway:
I missed it myself, but apparently they started teasing the switch a month ago. The official change, including it's logo will take place in January.
America may run on Dunkin', but what exactly are they selling now that they're changing their name? Thankfully their donuts will still be on the menu, but the company says it's renaming itself "Dunkin'" to reflect its increasing emphasis on coffee and other drinks.
Sorry, but it's going to take me a while to not include donuts when I say their name. At least they're not changing their philosophy to burgers...
