Thief River Falls, MN (KROC-AM News) - An elderly woman was the victim of a fatal crash Thursday afternoon in northern Minnesota.

The State Patrol says the deadly incident was reported around 12:50 PM at a rural intersection along Highway 59 north of Thief River Falls. The preliminary crash report indicates an SUV was headed south on the highway when it collided with the northbound semi-truck.

The State Patrol says the 79-year-old woman driving the SUV was killed in the collision. She has been identified as Corienne Marie Jacobson of Karlstad.

The driver of the semi-truck was identified as 64-year-old Robert Allan Benson of Mahnomen. He was not injured.
