I'll admit, the SPAM Museum in Austin, MN was one of the very first places my family visited after we moved to southeast Minnesota. It just felt like one of those places you had to experience at least once.

It definitely lived up to the hype.

I expected a quick walk-through with a few displays about canned meat. Instead, we found a place that was fun, quirky, surprisingly interactive, and honestly way more interesting than I ever imagined. You can even try free "Spamples," which are samples of different SPAM varieties. As we walked through the museum, I realized there's actually a fascinating history behind one of Minnesota's most recognizable products.

And the best part is that admission is free.
