Will Duluth Get Its First Snowfall Of The Season In October?
Fall is definitely in the air in Minnesota! However, we haven't seen our first super frosty temperature of the season just yet in the Northland. In fact, we have seen a pretty mild September but we all know that can and likely will change in an instant. That's just the Twin Ports way.

Winter will be here before you know it and October is usually the month that we start to get a little bit worried about seeing our first snowfall. It wouldn't be out of the question to get our first snowfall during October. (We all remember the Halloween blizzard of 1991, right?)
That's why I decided to do some digging into our first snowfall, turning to the Old Farmer's Almanac to see if we can expect it next month or if we get a little bit of time before that season we don't speak of moves in for the foreseeable future.
Will we get our first snowfall of the season in October?
While you can't take the Old Farmer's Almanac as fact, I choose to do so in this case because according to their forecast for October, there will be no snow in sight! That means we have another full month of avoiding winter in the forecast.
What else can we expect for the month of October?
Just because we don't have snow in the forecast doesn't mean that we won't see a rainy month! We can expect rain across the region at times, along with isolated showers and cool conditions at times. That creates the perfect spooky ambiance for October, no?

Minnesotans know winter can really start at any time. According to records, we have seen trace amounts of snowfall in the state in late August and have had measurable snowfall in September before. We still had remnants of snow in July at the MSP Airport!
