1 Person Treated For Smoke Inhalation After SE Rochester, MN Fire
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An early morning fire damaged a home in Southeast Rochester today.
The Rochester Fire Department says a person in a neighboring home reported seeing a fire in the living room of the house at 2712 Melrose Street Southeast around 2 AM. The person who reported the fire indicated that no one was inside the home
The first firefighters to arrive at the scene found moderate smoke coming from the front of the house and the attic area. They quickly knocked down the flames in the living room area while a search was conducted to verify that the home was unoccupied.
The Fire Department says there was significant fire damage in the living room area of the home and smoke damage throughout the structure. A preliminary estimate put the loss at around $50,000.
The person living in the home was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and a minor cut. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
