Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News)- Four people were taken to hospitals following a multi-vehicle crash at a southeast Minnesota intersection.

Three vehicles were involved in the collison. The State Patrol responded to the Goodhue County crash shortly before 3:00 Tuesday afternoon. 

The three vehicles collided at the intersection of Highways 61 and 19 in Red Wing.

A Saturn SUV was attempting a left turn to westbound Hwy. 19 from northbound Hwy. 61 when it made contact in the intersection with a Ford SUV. The two SUVs then hit a minivan that was also at the intersection. 

The state crash report does not say which direction the Ford was traveling and does not list the location of the minivan.

18-year-old Celso Afner Itehua of Red Wing was driving the SUV. He had one passenger with him, who has been identified as 20-year-old Elodia Itehua Tzompaxtle of Red Wing

37-year-old Constance Victoria Campbell was driving the Ford. She also had one passenger with her, identified as 18-year-old Jayme Jo Johnson

The man and woman in the Saturn and the women from Welch occupying the Ford all suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

The Welch residents and Itehua were taken to a Red Wing hospital for further care, while Tzompaxtle was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for medical treatment.

The minivan was driven by 49-year-old Mark Harold Vinje. 20-year-old Cody Jacob Vinje was riding with him. The two men, who are from Hastings, were not hurt and it’s unknown if they were buckled up. 

It’s also unknown if Itehua was buckled. Everyone else was buckled up, authorities say. 

Alcohol was not involved in the three-vehicle collision, according to the state crash report. 

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Red Wing Police Department, Red Wing Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash.
