SWAT Team Responds to Armed Faribault Standoff, Suspect Taken into Custody
Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police in Faribault say an armed and barricaded man was taken into custody Monday morning.

Preliminary information released by the Faribault Police Department says the incident began around 9:50 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the report of a domestic incident.
A news release says the report involved an armed man making threats towards a woman. The call for service came from a residence in the 1600 block of Foxwood Court.
Police say the woman was able to escape from the home with her children. The suspect, described as a 27-year-old man, remained inside of the home, according to the news release.
Armed & Barricaded Man Arrested in Faribault Monday Morning
Responding officers set up a perimeter around the home. Officials say police made multiple attempts to contact the subject but were unsuccessful.
Officers then called a portion of the South Metro SWAT Team to the home. The suspect then surrendered without incident around 11:50 a.m., authorities say.
Police have not yet released the name of the suspect. Potential charges are not yet available.
The news release does not say the ages of the woman and children and does not indicate how many children were in the home at the time of the reported threats.
