
Authorities ID Young Man Killed in Western Minnesota House Fire

Alexandria, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in western Minnesota have identified the victim of a recent fire that also injured five other people.
The Alexandria Police Department says 20-year-old Chance GiGuere was found dead in the upstairs of his family's home after the Alexandria Fire Department responded to the residence early Wednesday morning. Police Chief Scott Kent says the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing but it has been determined it started on the main floor of the house.
He says three adults in the home were taken to the hospital in Alexandria before they were airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center burn unit. Information about their medical conditions is not available.
Chief Kent says two school-age children were also in the burning the home. They were also transported to the Alexandria Hospital and were released later the same day.
