Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in southern Minnesota are investigating after a vehicle was pulled from a pond.
The vehicle recovery happened Saturday morning. Members of the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and Mankato Department of Public Safety pulled it from about 12 feet of water and roughly 60 yards offshore from a swimming beach.
The vehicle is being described as a 2020 GMC Acadia. It was discovered in the west bay of Hiniker Pond, which is just south of the Hwy. 14/Hwy. 169 interchange in Mankato.
Officials say the SUV was unoccupied at the time of the recovery. It’s believed no one was injured. The investigation is ongoing, however preliminary evidence suggests the vehicle was intentionally submerged.
