Caturia told BCA investigators that he tried to return fire but his gun had not discharged. Authorities say body camera footage that captured the incident supports Caturia’s account of the incident.

Crime scene personnel said they found two pistols and an assault rifle next to Paul’s body. The BCA plans to release the body camera footage once the investigation has been completed. Investigators will also forward their findings to the McCleod County Attorney’s Office for review without recommendation.
