St. Charles, MN (KROC-AM News)- State troopers responded to a chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles east of St. Charles late Sunday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol’s incident report indicates 71-year-old Dale Hinckley of Chatfield was waiting to make a left turn in a Chevy Silverado off eastbound Hwy. 14 in the eastern outskirts of St. Charles. Another eastbound Chevy Silverado, driven by 18-year-old Carter Burt of Utica, was stopped behind Hinckley’s pick-up.

Burt’s vehicle was then struck from behind by a third eastbound Chevy Silverado, operated by 18-year-old Lucas Mulhern of Preston, causing the chain-reaction crash around 11:45 a.m. Two passengers in Mulhern’s vehicle, identified as a 13-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl, suffered what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash report indicates the 13-year-old boy was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for further treatment following the three-vehicle crash. None of the drivers were hurt. 

The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles Ambulance and St. Charles Fire Department also responded to the three-vehicle crash.
