
Rochester Police Arrest 22-Year-Old Driver for Hitting Pedestrian, Driving into Squad Car

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Police arrested a motorist who hit a pedestrian in a Rochester parking lot Thursday morning.

That’s according to Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson.
Officers responded to the report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the parking lot around 5 a.m.

22-Year-Old Motorist Arrested After Hitting Pedestrian & Squad Car in Rochester Parking Lot
The vehicle pedestrian collision occurred in the parking lot of the Riverview Suits apartment complex at 211 1st St. in northeast Rochester. Grayson says the motorist hit a male pedestrian in the parking lot with the vehicle she was driving.
When officers arrived, the motorist drove into a squad car, parked then excited the vehicle, police say. Grayson says the pedestrian was transported from the scene by Mayo Clinic Ambulance for further care.
Officers identified the motorist as 22-year-old Hafsa Mohamad. She was taken into custody after showing signs of impairment, Grayson said.
Jail records indicate she is awaiting her first court appearance.
Police believe the pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries. His name has not yet been released.
