Police say the residents then ducked for cover and heard two shots. Officers did recover one shell casing and did not find any damage to the home, leading investigators to believe the subject fired the gun into the air then fled the area.

Later Friday morning officers conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 7th St. Northwest and arrested the subject, identified as 24-year-old Darnel Conley. The news release does not state whether or not officers recovered a gun during the traffic stop.

Officials say the investigation indicates Conley and residents of the home know each other. Conley was taken to the Rice County Jail and booked on suspicion of 2nd-degree assault

No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. Conley's first court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
