(UPDATE) Jury Convicts Rochester Man of Second-Degree Murder
(UPDATED) - An Olmsted County jury, late Thursday afternoon, returned a guilty verdict against a 20-year-old Rochester man accused of murder.
Isaac Gutierrez was found guilty of second-degree murder without intent, while the jury acquitted him of another second-degree murder charge that alleged he intended to cause the death of 24-year-old Osbel Orneals when he shot him in the parking lot at Crossroads Shopping Center in Rochester on the afternoon of February 3.
The fatal shooting occurred while the victim and Gutierrez's older brother were fighting in what apparently began as a parking dispute. Gutierrez is scheduled to be sentenced in October.

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The fate of a Rochester man accused of murder is now in the hands of an Olmsted County jury.
The panel began deliberations this afternoon in the case of Isaac Gutierrez. The 20-year-old Rochester man faces two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the death of 24-year-old Osbel Orneals.
The young man was fatally shot on the afternoon of February 3 during a confrontation in the parking lot at Crossroads Shopping Center next to the Chick-fil-A restaurant. According to the criminal complaint, the deadly shooting occurred while Gutierrez's older brother was fighting with the victim in an altercation that began with a parking dispute.
The jury heard testimony and viewed video evidence that, according to prosecutors, supported the charges that Gutierrez armed himself with a handgun and fatally shot Orneals, ending the physical fight between the victim and 26-year-old José Gutierrez Ojeda.
According to court documents, the Rochester police officers who responded to reports of the shooting found the two brothers still at the scene. They claimed they were acting in self-defense. The older brother is facing a felony assault charge in connection with the deadly confrontation.
The trial began Monday morning in Olmsted County Court with jury selection.
