Minnesota Teen Killed in Unwitnessed Motorcycle Crash
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota teenager was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning.
The State Patrol says 19-year-old Matthew Weilke was driving the motorcycle on Highway 55/62 near Fort Snelling when he apparently lost control while veering left to stay on Highway 55/62 headed toward the Mendota Bridge instead of remaining in the right lane for the exit ramp to Highway 5. The motorcycle ended up crashing into a small warning sign and a large exit sign at the interchange.
The body of the young man from Andover was located about 80 yards from where he collided with the smaller sign and his motorcycle was located another 50 yards away. The State Patrol says there were no witnesses to the crash, which was discovered just before 9 AM.
