Rochester Man Accused of Molesting 2 Young Girls for Several Years Arrested
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Rochester man who was wanted for the alleged repeated sexual abuse for two young girls has been arrested.
That’s according to Olmsted County court filings. Authorities served the warrant on Friday.
34-year-old Angel Luis Cruz Rivera was arraigned Friday on seven counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was released without bail but with conditions.
The warrant complaint, which was filed in Olmsted County Court Monday says two women came forward in August and told law enforcement that Rivera had molested them throughout the 2010’s.
One woman said the abuse occurred when she was between the ages of 7 and 11 and the other accused Rivera of molesting her when she was 10-12 years old. Both victims said the alleged assaults would occur in the middle of the night at a residence in Olmsted County.
Prosecutors requested the immediate arrest of Rivera due to the nature of the charges and concerns for the safety of the victims and the public, according to the court document.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).
The case is being prosecuted by a member of the Freeborn County Attorney’s Office at the request of Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrom, according to court records. Rivera is due back in court later this month.
