Heavy smoke was reported to be coming from a side window of the home. Firefighters began deploying water and entered the front of the home. No one was found during the search that occurred during the firefight, the fire department says.

The unaccounted for person was then located outside of the home once the fire was put out. A Rochester police officer who also responded to the scene was transported to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, officials say.
