State Patrol Responds to 2 Injury Crashes in Rochester Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Patrol responded to a pair of injury crashes in Rochester on Monday.
The first crash occurred during the morning commute and the second happened during the evening commute. Both crashes occurred in eastern Rochester.
The first happened shortly after 7:45 a.m. First responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash along Hwy. 14 near the intersection with 40th Ave. Southeast.
The state crash report indicates a minivan was turning onto 40th Ave. from westbound Hwy. 14 when it and a car that was also westbound on Hwy. 14 collided. The car driver, identified as 28-year-old Derek John Obrien of Pine Island, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and went to St. Mary’s Hospital for further care.
A passenger in the minivan, 18-year-old Jayden Randal Nyugen from Rochester, also went from the crash scene to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The minivan driver, identified as 26-year-old Megan Kristine Ellinghuysen, was not hurt. The Rochester Fire Department and Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the Monday morning crash.
The second injury crash occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. in northeast Rochester. The state crash report says a car collided with a stalled vehicle that was in the left lane of East Circle Dr near the intersection with Rocky Creek Dr.
16-year-old Tyshawn Patrick Beane of Rochester was operating the stalled vehicle. He went to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car that collided with the stalled vehicle, 30-year-old Elleciah Hasan David Humphrey of Rochester, was not hurt. The Rochester Police Department also responded to the Monday evening crash.
The crash reports say alcohol was not involved in either crash and the four drivers and one passenger were all buckled up.
