Previous Version: Cass Lake, MN (KROC-AM News)- The BCA has issued a statewide alert for a child reported missing in northern Minnesota

The alert sent out early Friday morning says the child was last seen around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The Leech Lake Tribal Police Department says the boy left a residence near 140th Street Northwest and Wakonabo Drive Northwest in the Prescott area of Cass Lake, Minn., on foot .

The BCA describes 8-year-old Alfred Desjarlait III as four feet tall, 80 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black Timberland jacket, jeans and multi-colored Puma shoes. 

Authorities say his direction and destination of travel are unknown. Authorities are asking anyone who sees the child to call 911.
