Scattered severe storms will be possible across a large portion of Minnesota Thursday afternoon into the evening.

A front moving through the region will help spark shower and thunderstorm development on Thursday afternoon west of the Mississippi River. A few of these storms could be severe with the main impacts being large hail and damaging winds.

There is some uncertainty in the time and place of the initial development of thunderstorms, however once these storms get going, they will move eastward and weaken through the evening and overnight.
