Another Shot to See The Amazing Northern Lights Happening Tuesday In Minnesota and Wisconsin

Parts of Minnesota lit up on Monday night thanks to the Northern Lights.  If you've never seen this magical display of lights in the sky, another opportunity to catch a glimpse is happening on Tuesday, September 19th in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Before you venture out tonight to try to see them, check the tips below on how to successfully see the Northern Lights.

According to NOAA.gov, there will be geomagnetic activity again on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023 and several Midwest states are in the viewing area.  (See map below)

Tips to See the Northern Lights in Minnesota

Tuesday night is going to be a little bit harder to see the Northern Lights in Minnesota but it is still very possible.  Most of Minnesota is still in the viewing area but based on the map from NOAA.gov, the lights probably won't be as active as they were on Monday.  And as we know, the weather can change.  You can see updates on the likelihood of seeing the Northern Lights though at the NOAA.gov website.

If you'd like a chance to see the lights, here are a few tips to help you out:

• Drive away from the city lights.
• Try to find a parking spot that is away from any farm or street lights.
• Take a photo with your phone of the sky - if you see green on the photo when you look at it, that is probably the Northern Lights.  (The photo helps you realize what you need to focus on)

2023 seems to be the year of the Northern Lights in the land of 10,000 lakes.  We've had so many opportunities this year to go outside and try to see them.  Way back in March, I could even see them from my deck.  I just stood there and watched...it was phenomenal.
