Cancer sucks.

If that word hasn't impacted your family or a friend in some way, consider yourself very lucky.  Unfortunately, it is estimated that 2,001,140 people in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer in 2024.  Even more tragic is that 611,720 individuals will pass away this year due to that horrible "c" word.

Show Your Support for Cancer Survivors at the Upcoming Join The Journey Cancer Awareness Walk

My own family has heard the word "cancer" way too much and I've watched my sister, brother, dad and mom all go through various cancer treatments.  I've seen the worst and experienced all of the emotions of losing a loved one to cancer.  But I've also sat at chemo appointments, been the driver, the person to just be there to show support and love, and witnessed how the fight can lead to remission.

I've also had a chance to walk alongside over 100+ cancer survivors in Southeast Minnesota during their journeys.  Although every individual came with a different story and challenges, one thing was pretty consistent for them and also my family members - they need people to surround them and show support.

Thankfully, Southeast Minnesota has an amazing group called Join the Journey that provides that support every day to cancer survivors.  And they've got a big invite to all who would love to join them for an upcoming walk to show support.

Everything You Need To Know About the Join the Journey Cancer Awareness Walk in Southeast Minnesota

Join the Journey, a local nonprofit in Southeast Minnesota, provides information, support, and fellowship to anyone who is a cancer survivor.  Some of the programs sponsored by this organization include the Making Waves Dragon Boating, Cancer Mentorship Program, Circle of Hope Breast Cancer Support Group, and Vision of Hope Cancer Support Group.  This group of volunteers works hard to ensure cancer survivors know that people are here to help and listen.

If you are a cancer survivor, you know someone who is, or you just want to show your support, the Join the Journey Cancer Awareness Walk is one of the best ways to show your support.  This walk is also a great way to remember those in our lives who have lost their fight to cancer.  The annual walk also helps provide vital funds that help continue the support group programs in our area.
