Heading to Rochester’s Mayo Clinic Craft Fair? Here Are 3 Things You Need to Know First
This is the time of year when you can get a lot of holiday shopping done. 41% of people have stated that they want to support local this year, and if that is you, just go to one of the many craft fairs in our area.
One of the biggest craft fairs in Rochester is coming up this weekend - the Mayo Clinic Craft Fair. I went last year for the first time and had no idea it was as massive as it was! If you are going this year, below are three tips that I learned. (And I will be following all of these when I go again this year.)

3 Things To Know If You Attend The Mayo Clinic Craft Fair in Rochester, Minnesota
Before you start typing my boss a message that the name of this fair isn't correct...I know. According to the Experience Rochester website, this event is now called the Holiday Business & Craft Show. However, there are a few Facebook pages that state this is the Mayo Clinic Craft Fair. This is also what most of us still call this event...Holiday Business & Craft Show, Mayo Clinic Craft Fair...I believe these are the same event and it appears the new name is officially the Holiday Business & Craft Fair.
For years, I also thought that this craft fair was only for Mayo Clinic Employees. The old title sort of indicated that it was. FYI - it is not.
Now that that is cleared up, here are a few tips if you are planning on attending this year.
1) Wear Comfy Shoes. This is not a place where I'd suggest wearing heels. You can, but there are over 370+ tables that will be set up and over 90 unique vendors. Walking is going to happen and there is a lot of it.
Make sure that you put this one on the books! It is ALL handmade items! Over 370+ tables of goodies! The vendor spots sold out within a couple of hours so it will be packed with amazing items! - Mayo Craft Sale Facebook Event
2) Bring a Reusable Bag. If you find some goodies (which you will) you'll need an easy way to carry them around.
3) Perishable Food Items Can Get Moldy Before Christmas. This was a momfail for me. I have no idea why I didn't realize this as I was buying cake pops from one of the vendors. I thought these would have been a great stocking stuffer for my kids on Christmas morning. Yep...a full month+ away. My kids didn't tell me until a few weeks after Christmas that they had to throw all of them away because when they bit into their chocolate-covered cake pop, it was full of mold. According to an e-mail I got, there will not be any food items sold at this event. Keep this tip handy if you go to any other craft fairs or holiday shows.
