If you need to get groceries, looks like northwest Rochester, Minnesota is now the hot spot for all of the stores.  Plans for a brand-new Cub Foods were recently submitted to the City of Rochester and it will just be a hop, skip, and a jump away from several other grocery store locations.

New Cub Foods Grocery Store In The Works for Northwest Rochester

I've spent some time in Northwest Rochester lately (and probably too much thanks to Crumbl Cookie moving to town).  Aldi's off of Commerce Drive has become my Saturday morning grocery stop.  Their prices truly are amazing when it comes to produce.  But it looks like some competition might be moving across the street.

According to the City of Rochester website, new plans for a Cub Foods were submitted on November 28th, 2022 and would be built on the land that is at Scott Road NW and Commerce Drive NW.

The documentation stated that this would be for a "proposed 88, 500 square foot retail development including accompanying parking, utilities, and landscaping".

What grocery store do you visit the most in Rochester?

I saw the other day someone posting on the Spotted in Rochester Facebook page how the line at Walmart South for grocery pickup was super long.  It wasn't mean, they were just thankful and stating a fact...and then another individual called them lazy in the comments for doing grocery pickup.

If you think grocery pickup service is being used because someone is lazy, you are wrong.  I use grocery pickup all the time.  I have even had my groceries delivered to me.  It was a huge lifesaver especially when my family got hit with COVID.  It was the only way we had groceries and I was so thankful for the guy that came and put my groceries by my front door.

The weeks where I literally am not home any night of the week, grocery pickup and delivery is one of the biggest perks so food shows up in our fridge.  It is not lazy.  It is being efficient with my time and is a service that stores provide for whatever reason you personally need it for.

But, fyi, that service was around before the pandemic too.  I know, because I started using it years ago through HyVee when I did daycare out of my home.  I can tell you for a fact that having groceries delivered to me was far easier than hauling 10 kids to the store.  Oh wait, I wouldn't have had room FOR my groceries in the cart OR my car...so I guess according to the Spotted in Rochester individual calling people lazy, I chose lazy so the kids could eat.

What store do you shop at the most?  Let me know over on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.  Whatever your choice is, it is what works best for you.  In our world today, you've got so many options too, which is amazing!  You could just have your food brought to you and never step in a grocery store again.
