Do those numbers look right to you? I know I'm spending more on our cell phones, health insurance, car insurance, and utilities. I probably need to shop around and look for better deals.

Doxo's 2024 Cost of Bills report examines the nine most common household bills (Utilities, Cable & Phone, Mobile Phone, Auto Loans, Auto Insurance, Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Alarm & Security, Rent or Mortgage) to compare the cost of living in different areas.

Unsurprisingly, the report shows that residents of Hawaii pay the most for bills, followed by those in California and Massachusetts. Kentucky is the cheapest state.

Believe it or not, the study finds that household expenses in Rochester are the same as the national average of $2,126, and 5% lower than the state average of $2,216.
