Millions Donated in Huge Gift to 7 Minnesota Non-Profits from Jeff Bezos’ Ex

Tis the season of giving and during this time a philanthropist has donated millions of dollars yet again to Minnesota non-profits. Her name is MacKenzie Scott and she also happens to be the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos.

I've written about MacKenzie's kindness before. Back in 2020, she first donated millions of dollars to Minnesota charities. And she's donated BILLIONS to charities around the country since.

This is all part of a pledge MacKenzie made to give away most of her wealth. On her Giving Pledge website she writes, "In addition to whatever assets life has nurtured in me, I have a disproportionate amount of money to share." She plans to "keep at it until the safe is empty."

So many people hold onto their money like crazy. This is such an amazing thing that MacKenzie is doing and I hope she inspires others to give to people in need as well.

MacKenzie Scott Donates Millions to 7 Minnesota Non-Profits

Just last week MacKenzie Scott made the announcement that she's donating millions of dollars to more Minnesota non-profits. According to FOX 9, those include:

$10 million to City of Lakes Community Land Trust - "a Minneapolis nonprofit focusing on preserving affordable homeownership"

$7 million to Project for Pride in Living - "a Minneapolis nonprofit that helps provide affordable housing and career readiness services for lower-income families"

$2.6 million to Southside Community Health Services - "a community health center in south Minneapolis"

$2.5 million to Battered Women's Justice Project - "a St. Paul nonprofit focusing on gender violence"

$2 million to Hmong American Partnership - "a nonprofit social service and community development focusing on the needs of Twin Cities immigrants and refugees"

$2 million to Way to Grow - "a nonprofit in Minneapolis providing free family support and education programming up to third grade"

and $2 million to Think Small - "a nonprofit based in Little Canada providing resources for early childhood education"

Obviously, you don't have to donate nearly as much money as MacKenzie does but if you're able to give, hopefully she has inspired you to do so! Or if you don't have money to give, donating your time to a charity you love is fantastic too.
