Will the Snow Return? Minnesota’s February Weather Outlook
While the warmer weather and sun feel amazing, these temperatures are insane for the end of January/beginning of February in Minnesota. According to Weather Spark, our February temperatures are usually around 25 to 34 degrees.
There's hardly any snow left in our yard it's been so warm. So what does February have in store for us? Will the snow return?
Minnesota Snow Predictions for February
NOAA has their predictions out for February for the entire country.
In Minnesota precipitation-wise, they're predicting that we'll likely have an average amount of precipitation this month. Most of Iowa is in the same boat as well and about half of Wisconsin.
A small chunk of eastern Iowa and the eastern half of Wisconsin are predicted to have below-average precipitation.
Precipitation means snow, right? Well, maybe not.
Minnesota Temperature Predictions for February
As for temperature, NOAA is predicting that we'll have above-average temperatures for February. The same goes for all of Iowa and Wisconsin. So that precipitation might be rain and not snow. How weird is that?
I know we all complain about the cold, I did plenty of complaining that one week we had below-zero temperatures, but this is kind of messed up. We should be dealing 20s or 30s and snow on the ground in February.
NOAA's Three-Month Outlook for Minnesota
NOAA also made predictions for the next three months, February, March, and April.

For precipitation, they're predicting we'll continue to have an average amount of precipitation throughout the next three months.
As for temperature, the same story, they're predicting above-average temperatures for the next three months.
It definitely seems like this winter will be one for the books.
