After 50 Years, the Minnesota State Patrol is Making a Big Change
The Minnesota State Patrol has announced that they'll be making a change that will debut this week. It'll definitely be a big and noticeable change but it shouldn't really come as a surprise, either.

History of the Minnesota State Patrol
The Minnesota State Patrol started, no surprise, when the boom of the automobile was taking off, in 1929.
At first, it was only made up of 9 people. That's wild to think about considering how many state troopers there are today! The Minnesota State Patrol says that today there are over 600 troopers.
The thing that's changing this week is something that's been a part of the state patrol for more than half of its existence.
Minnesota State Patrol is Changing Their Logo
The big change is the state patrol logo, which has been in place for 50 years.
And after the past year, it shouldn't be surprising that this is happening. Since we have a new state flag and state seal, the state patrol is updated their logo to match the new seal.
Col. Christina Bogojevic, chief of the Minnesota State Patrol, told WCCO, "'[We] really decided as a state agency that this would be a great opportunity to align ourselves with state agencies throughout the nation and come up with our own identity.'"
The logo will be updated on all troopers' uniform patches, badges, and patrol cars. We can expect to see the new logo to be rolled out this week.
