Here’s the City With the Most Affordable Homes in Illinois
If you need a place but are not sure if you can afford it maybe you need to move to this Illinois town.
That's because they were named the city with the cheapest homes in the entire state.
Wall St. 24/7's The Cheapest City to Buy A Home in Your State says you should probably move to Macomb.
That's right, the home of Western Illinois University is apparently the cheapest place to buy a home in the Land of Lincoln.
According to Wall St. 24/7's findings, the median price of a home for sale in Macomb costs a measly $69,900 nearly $250K cheaper than the state average.
What you save in price means you're actually getting a tinier crib too. The average size of a place for sale in Macomb is about 400 square feet smaller than the average for the rest of the state.
That said, some of the houses in Macomb for sale are reasonably sized and priced to move, like this one listed on Zillow.
Priced at just under $35K this spot is perfect for someone with a vision and some patience.
That's not to say Macomb has nothing but inexpensive homes because I managed to find a handful of homes between $300K and $400K.
That's just one place I found really cheap that's larger than the average home for sale in Macomb.
Would you move to a different city in Illinois if you knew you could buy a home there for cheap?
