Jennifer Aniston’s Been on Instagram for a Day and Is Already Breaking Records
Jennifer Aniston has been on Instagram for a day, and she's already breaking records.
On Tuesday (October 15), the actress made her debut on the social media platform with what will surely go down as an iconic first post: a selfie of her and her Friends co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry. The caption was even epic: "And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM," she wrote.
In just 24 hours the post has racked up nearly 11.5 million likes, and the 50-year-old already has over 10 million followers. In fact, she garnered so many followers so quickly that she broke a record previously set by Meghan Markle and Prince Henry. According to Guiness Book of World Records, it took Aniston only five hours and 16 minutes to collect a million followers, while it took the Duke and Duchess of Sussex five hours and 45 minutes.
Just last week, Aniston was asked if she'd ever join the platform. "What you resist, persists," she told Entertainment Tonight, "It's something that is a part of our world now and it's not going away."
Though heistent on becoming part of the IG world, she's pretty damn good at it. Aniston's already shared a hilarious post about breaking the internet.
Looks like we have a new social media queen on our hands, and we're here for it.
