Kane Brown’s Subdued ‘Homesick’ on ‘The Voice’ Will Melt Your Heart [Watch]
Kane Brown stepped on the stage of The Voice Monday (Dec. 2) to perform a subdued version of his hit "Homesick," also showing that becoming a new daddy looks (and sounds) mighty good on him.
Backed by a small orchestra, Brown shines as he delivered the "First Dance Version" of "Homesick," which is included on his sophomore album Experiment. Watching him display his heartfelt side impressed not only viewers, but The Voice coaches Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.
“Okay Kane Brown with the amazing performance on The Voice,” Clarkson tweeted after the show. “That was beautiful.”
“Aww. Thanks Kelly,” Brown quickly replied.
"Homesick" will likely take on new meaning for Brown in the months ahead as he preps to kick off his first headlining international tour on Feb. 2. The run will have the three-time American Music Award winner making stops internationally in Dublin, Ireland, Europe and Canada, in addition to his native U.S.
But until then, Brown looks to have plenty of time to spend at home with his wife, Katelyn Jae, and their baby girl Kingsley Rose, who was born in Nashville in October. The family of three will celebrate their first Christmas together later this month.
“I’m just excited to give her presents at Christmas, on birthdays ... just giving her the best life,” Brown tells People. "She’s starting to look more like me. I feel bad for my wife. But she has her nose."
