Kevin Costner’s Band is Only Playing 8 Dates This Year And One is in Minnesota
Kevin Costner is hitting the road this summer and touring with his band, Modern West. They're only doing eight shows-- and one of them is right here in Minnesota.
If you're a fan of the monster hit TV series Yellowstone, you already know that this season (which has historically dropped in June) has been moved until this fall. But you'll still get a chance to see John Dutton (Kevin Costner's character in the show) up close and personal before then. That's because Costner and his band, Modern West, have announced a series of eight live performances that will focus on music inspired by the show and its characters.
And one of them is right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes!
My wife and I love Yellowstone, but I have to say I was today's days old when I realized Kevin Costner even had a band-- a band that has released an album of songs inspired by the western-themed TV show. But while new to me (and maybe you, too) Taste of Country says Costner's turn as a musician isn't necessarily new, though:
The multi-talented actor and director has pursued a parallel career as a singer-songwriter for years, recording and releasing music and touring as the frontman of Kevin Costner & Modern West. The group's most recent album is Tales From Yellowstone, which they released in June of 2020.
So where can you see Kevin Costner & Modern West here in our neck of the woods? Why, that would be at this year's Great Minnesota Get-Back-Together. That's right, what was originally billed as 'Music, Movie, and Conversation with Kevin Costner' has now added 'with special guest Modern West' to the bill, all of which is scheduled for Friday, September 3rd in the grandstand at the Minnesota State Fair.
Of course, fellow country stars, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris and Tim McGraw are also all set to appear in the grandstand for this year's state fair, as well.
Kevin released an official concert poster a few days ago on the band's Instagram page, check it out below. And speaking of movie stars and Minnesota, while Kevin Costner isn't a Minnesota native (he was born in California), keep scrolling to check out 10 celebrities who WERE born here-- and how much they're worth!
