There's something about living in Minnesota that means certain things are just understood without ever having to be said out loud. And apparently, Kwik Trip knows one of our most universal household habits so well that it couldn't resist making a joke about it.

You have to hand it to Kwik Trip and the team behind its social media. Instead of just posting news about another product on sale at a special price, they posted a hilarious picture that is bound to hit home with most Minnesotans.

Kwik Trip Knows Minnesota Customers Better Than Most

Kwik Trip is one of the most popular convenience stores in the upper Midwest these days. The familiar chain opened its first store in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1965. Its corporate headquarters are located in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Kwik Trip says it operates 930 stores as of late October 2026, following the opening of store #1791 in Little Falls, MN, and store #1288 in Dyersville, IA, earlier this year. Overall, its stores are spread among seven different states:

  • Wisconsin
  • Minnesota
  • Iowa
  • Illinois
  • North Dakota
  • South Dakota
  • Michigan

The company operates under the name Kwik Trip in Wisconsin and here in Minnesota, and as Kwik Star in Iowa and other states, to avoid confusion with similarly named chains. Its home state of Wisconsin has the most Kwik Trips, with 510 located in the Dairy State. There are currently around 225 Kwik Trips in Minnesota, with 158 in Iowa.

Kwik Trip's Ice Cream Sale Comes With a Hilarious Twist

And the Kwik Trip social media team is famous for employing a snarky sense of humor, something they just proved earlier this week again when they posted that the gallon size of their Nature's Touch Ice Cream was on sale. Check it out:

Kwik Trip then went on to post in the comments, 'Also they come with free ice cream,' before noting that the sale is set to end 11/16.

Minnesotans Have Plenty of Uses for Those Plastic Containers

And for just about all Minnesotans-- and Wisconsinites-- that post hits home, because just about all of us use those plastic ice cream containers (as well as other plastic containers from Cool Whip and restaurant take-out) to store leftovers in, right?

Heck, we use those containers for more than leftovers, too, routinely storing other miscellaneous items ranging from items from dog toys and treats, to nuts, bolts, and pretty much everything else you might find in a Minnesota garage.

So, shout-out to Kwik Trip for once again being right on the money when it comes to knowing its customers. Well done!
