Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man who was caught driving drunk also had a loaded gun in his pocket.

An Olmsted County patrol deputy spotted a car headed east on Highway 14 near West Circle Dr. around 3:30 Saturday morning travelling at a high rate of speed. The car then went through the median and was still headed east on the westbound lanes. The deputy saw the vehicle then go back through the median and get back onto the eastbound lanes. The deputy pulled the driver over near Barlow Plaza.

The driver got out of his car and raised his hands and the handgun was found when the deputy patted him down.

Taken into custody was 34-year-old Ronald Ward. A breath test showed he had a blood/alcohol level of .13. He is facing DUI and other charges, including carrying a gun without a permit.
