The Rochester Lourdes Eagles are ranked tops in the state in Class 2A in the latest Minnesota Basketball News rankings.  Fellow Hiawatha Valley League member Lake City is #6, Waseca #9.

In Class 2A Medford should also probably be ranked.  All they did last year was go undefeated during the regular season and much of the team is back including their outstanding point guard Kiley Nihart.

In Class 1A it appears the pollsters forgot about last years runner-up Goodhue.  The Wildcats did lose a couple of players to graduation. They won't have the size they had but they will still get after it defensively with full court pressure.  Last season there were stretches where Goodhue had trouble scoring.  With their speed and athleticism that probably won't be a problem this season.

Defending champion Minneota tops the Class 1A poll with Cromwell #2 and Mountain Iron-Buhl #3.  Mayer Lutheran is #10.

DeLaSalle is numero uno in Class 3A.  Austin #5, Red Wing #6.

In Class 4A Hopkins sits atop the rankings with Wayzata next and Farmington #3.  Lakeville North is #5
